10 Tips for a Better Horse Portrait Session

Hey, Equine Photo School students! I ran across this old gem today. It is a checklist that I used to send to clients before we had a photoshoot. I don’t send it anymore but we still have a chat about it ahead of time.

Who doesn’t LOVE checklists, right? You won’t be able to do every one of these tasks for every photo shoot you go on, but bookmark this page and refer back to it the next time you book a client.

Photo Shoot Checklist

Educating your clients on what you want from them is a huge help. You don’t want to show up and wait for them to catch their horse from the pasture after it has been rolling in the mud. (Ask me how I know LOL)

I suggest you ease into this process, start with just one suggestion at a time. This will make the whole process less intimidating. Your clients will be at ease too because you’ll appear more knowledgeable and confident.
