What are the basics?
- Aperture

Aperture:
- The opening in the lens that light passes through to reach the camera’s sensor.
- Controls the brightness or darkness of an image
- Also, Controls the amount of the photo that is acceptably sharp or out of focus.
- Measured in F-Stops
Shutter Speed:
- The time which the sensor is exposed to light.
- Measured in fractions of a second or a whole seconds.
- Controls the brightness or darkness of the image
- Also captures action or shows motion depending on how fast the shutter speed is set to
ISO
- ISO describes how sensitive the sensor is to light.
- Controls the brightness or darkness of the image
- It can introduce noise or grain into the picture.
- The amount of noise depends on the specific sensor used.
Focal Length
- Measured in millimeters
- Describes the distance from the sensor to the point where light converges in the lens, not the actual length of the lens
- Controls the magnification of the image
- Also controls the angle of view of the image
- There are two types of lenses
- Zoom and Prime
- Zoom lenses have a variable focal length
- Prime lenses have a fixed focal length
- Zoom and Prime
- There are serval categories of lenses based on the focal length.
